With tracks rooted in a true love for the musicality of vocal led songs, B. Hawksley processes personal experiences and universal feelings through storytelling lyricism. Her debut EP “I’ll Be Your Mirror” is the first collection of original music released after years of writing and featuring for other artists. 

In defining her sound, inspiration from across B. Hawksley’s life and relationships can be heard clearly. Songwriters like Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, Julia Jacklin, and Fleetwood Mac, to Greg Mendez, Jenny Lewis and Andy Shauf, provide a strong foundation from which she takes inspiration and projects her own musicality. Having always had an eclectic music taste, she has previously been pulled towards different genres when developing her craft, and though she has a lot of love for of the instrumentation of jazz greats Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald and Melody Bardot, the production of J Dilla and 90s American Hip Hop, and the melodies of modern pop, embodied by Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, it was guitar-led songwriting that is her true calling, at a pivotal moment in 2023 when she questioned her musical identity as an artist.

The “I’ll Be Your Mirror” EP explores themes of love from all angles; for the friends, family members and partners, in their successes and their faults. The release was produced by Alex Parish and earns its reflective name as B. Hawksley examines the role she plays in relationships and how that impacts those around her.

 Under her Alexa Harley alias, B. Hawksley has provided topline vocals for drum and bass heavyweights including Hybrid Minds, Monrroe, Deadline and more, alongside features for the likes of Tom Misch, WEI, jacuzzi jefferson, poolsideconvo, El Train, and long-time friend and collaborator Hector Plimmer. 

Leaning into her sound and lyrical sense of self, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for B. Hawksley and her upcoming releases and live performances.
